HE’S CHECKING YOU!

I preached a sermon on last Sunday called, “I Have Decided to Accept the CHALLENGE”. It was a pretty powerful sermon on some ways that Jesus challenged Peter in his walk with him. In the message, I gave 6 challenges, but on today, I want to give you one. I need you to watch the sermon to get the rest.

So here’s the challenge. God is checking you in this season to see who He is to YOU!

In Matthew 16:16, Jesus asked Peter who He was to him. Check out the response starting with verse 16:

16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter,[b] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[c] will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[d] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[e] loosed in heaven.” 20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.

When you can accept the challenge and acknowledge who God is in this moment of your life, He calls you blessed! He says that He can build something on what you are declaring out of your mouth!

If you are declaring Him as Jehovah Rapha the God that heals…He’s saying that He can build health on that.

Jehova Nissi prince of Peace— He can build on that!

Jehovah Jirah the provider— He can build on that!

Abba the father that you need right now….He can build on that!

Strength in the midst of weakness…

Joy when there’s sorrow…

Restorer when there’s brokenness…

He can build on all of that, but He can’t build on doubt and disbelief. Without faith, it’s impossible to please God! Those that come to God must first believe that He is! When you do that, He builds blessings and favor on…..guess what….YOUR BELIEF!!

He says I can build on that, but first I need a strong foundation to build on. That foundation is the KNOWING who He is! IF He needs to build on the foundation that needs peace….He says lay it down for me….lay down who I am as your foundation, and I’ll build on it for you!

Lay down the foundation of who you need me to be…and because of your faith, I will build on it saith the Lord!

It wasn’t until Peter accepted the challenge of answering who God was to him….was when God told him that he can build something on that! You got to hear that!

What kind of foundation are you laying for God to build on in your life???

Whatever it is, lay the foundation in faith, and God will be on it with His power! #Selah
